The idea behind how online slots real money works is that it is a cheap option that a wide variety of players can play, no matter what your limits are. Penny slots offer great entertainment value for very little money, depending on how you play them. We say this because, since many penny slots are going to feature multi-lines, you are going to find that you could end up paying for per spin than some high dollar slots. If you are simply looking to play for a good time, then it isn't recommended to play the maximum amount on penny slot machines.
For starters, if you are looking to play online slots USA to have a shot at hitting those progressive jackpots, then be sure to check the information on the US slot sites before playing. Most will require you to play the maximum amount per spin to have a shot at the progressive jackpot, so make sure you are aware of that. There is definitely some strategy behind playing penny slots as well, and a lot of it comes down to making sure you know when to up and down your bet.
You should increase your bet when you are rolling on a hot streak and doing well. It's important that, when the streak ends or if you hit a cold streak, then you should lower your bet size accordingly. You shouldn't be increasing your bet size if you are on a bad streak in order to try to get your money back quickly, as this is the quickest way to run out of money in a hurry. A good tip to keep yourself going at a good level is to change machines if you aren't hitting anything, as this can definitely help to ease your mind a bit while playing penny slots.

Penny slots have long been a popular fixture on casino floors around the world, and they are also gaining popularity via the online casino market. These inexpensive machines provide players a chance to win big jackpots while still only risking small investments.
One of the great benefits of playing penny slots online is that players will get a lot more gaming action and time from their bankrolls. When playing regular slots, most players must be careful with the amount of time they spend, because their bankroll can be spent rather quickly. With penny slots, the same bankroll will last a lot longer, while payouts can be greater. The more slot plays you can get, the greater your chances of winning. Therefore, the amount of time you spend on a machine makes all the difference!
While payouts on penny slots are generally lower, in terms of dollars, the payout amounts in relationship to the investment can be as high, if not higher, than higher denomination slots machines. For instance, a payout of $50 against a $0.01 bet (equal 5,000 times the investment) is much better than a payout of $500 to a $1 bet (equal to 500 times the investment).
Many casinos will allow you to play their penny slot machines for free. That way, you can get a feel for the action and how it works. You may then decide to play for real money, if you are allowed to do so in your jurisdiction.

PENDLETON MAN WINS $674,000 ON WILDHORSE PENNY SLOT MACHINE
One push of the button sent a local man over the rainbow Tuesday thanks to a "Wizard of Oz" progressive penny slot machine at Wildhorse Resort & Casino. Playing the themed machine, Pendleton resident Matt Doherty won $674,096 -- the biggest payout of its kind in almost five years. David Rohn, Wildhorse director of slot operations, said the odds of winning that type of jackpot are akin to winning the lottery. According to Rohn, the Wizard of Oz penny machine is considered a "wide area progressive" machine, meaning its continually mounting jackpot is not only drawn from players at Wildhorse, but from other casinos across the country. Considering the thousands of people who come through Wildhorse every day and the millions more who patronize the other casinos, the odds of hitting the progressive jackpot are pretty small.
In its 20 years of existence, Wildhorse wide area progressive machines have produced only 17 winners, the last being a La Grande man who won $2.29 million on March 23, 2010, almost five years to the day before Doherty won his own jackpot. When someone wins such a gigantic pot, taking home the money isn't as easy as stuffing the cash in a suitcase and walking out.
Rohn said the manufacturer of the slot machine, which supplies the payout instead of the casino, sends a team to verify the winnings. Although verification can take up to 24 hours, Rohn said it only took about six hours for the team to confirm Doherty's jackpot. Doherty declined to comment for this story.
Even after confirmation, progressive jackpot winners don't immediately receive the money. Winners receive 5 percent up front - approximately $33,705 for Doherty - and are eventually sent a letter with the option to either receive the rest of the money in a long-term annuity or a smaller lump sum, minus taxes. "No one expects to win," Rohn said. "They play for fun and when they win it comes as a surprise." Being one of the largest tourist draws in Eastern Oregon means many slots winners come from outside the Pendleton area. But for Doherty, there's no place like home.

NEW 'ELLEN' SLOT MACHINES DRAWING CROWDS TO AREA CASINOS
Fans of Ellen DeGeneres might notice a familiar smile peering back at them from slot floors of a handful of Northern California casinos these days: Ellen herself.
Two new machines from slot manufacturer IGT feature animated versions of Ellen singing, dancing and saying familiar catchphrases from her popular daytime talk show. The formal titles of the slots are "The Ellen DeGeneres Show Featuring Ellen's Dance Party Video Slots" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show Featuring 12 Days of Giveaways Video Slots." The penny machines started appearing on casino floors this year; casinos that have the slots include Cache Creek Casino Resort in Brooks (Yolo County), Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park and Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore (Kings County).
Slot geeks like the new slots because they incorporate IGT's new CrystalCore cabinet, a physical format that features better-than-usual sound and high-definition visuals on a 42-inch vertical touchscreen display. Ordinary gamblers like the games because they offer fun sequences in which a computerized caricature of Ellen dances around the screen and sings a variety of tunes. The machines also are programmed with a number of bonus cycles that pay out anywhere from 200 to 2,500 units.
These bonus cycles resonate particularly well with fans of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." One, dubbed the "Know or Go Bonus," is designed after the "Know or Go" segment on Ellen's show, and has (virtual) contestants stand upon a (virtual) platform and eliminates them one by one based on player selection. Another, dubbed "Ellen's Wheel of Riches Bonus," mimics the Wheel of Riches from the show and offers players a chance to spin a touch-screen wheel and claim a windfall of cash (or, in this case, coins).
So far, these features appear to be hits. Graton has six machines, and Kord Nichols, vice president and assistant general manager, said the machines "became some of the most popular in the house" virtually overnight. Nichols added that it's not unusual to see a crowd standing around the machines, laughing at what transpires while people play.
"Ellen has a wide audience, which means slots that have her on them appeal to a broad group of people," Nichols said. "Slot machines with a fun theme are just more fun to play."
Nichols added that Graton expects to add four new machines by the end of the summer. Representatives from IGT said they expected the slots to start appearing in other area casinos this year.

NEVADA MAN WINS LARGEST PENNY JACKPOT IN HISTORY
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- A Nevada resident became a multi-millionaire this afternoon when his penny investment paid off on Penny Megabucks(R) at the Pahrump Nugget Casino. He hit the MegaJackpot(R) for $18,799,414, the largest penny slot jackpot ever won.
"On my way over to the casino this morning," said the anonymous 66-year-old man, "I actually thought about playing Penny Megabucks(R). I don't know why because I normally play video poker. So after rolling several practice games, I went to have lunch and on the way back to the lanes, I stopped to play Penny Megabucks(R)."
"I put in $100 and after playing $44, I saw five eagles line up and thought I had won about $3,000," he added. "Then I looked up, and the large jackpot on top of the machine had switched from $18 million to $10 million. Then I knew I had won something big."
The winner said he will pay off some bills and then take his wife on a long trip to Australia.
"It's exciting to make history with this penny MegaJackpot(R)," said Ed Rogich, vice president of marketing for IGT, which developed the penny Megabucks(R) game. "Penny slots are enormously popular, and this huge jackpot proves that they have a place in gaming history."
The Nevada dollar Megabucks(R) system produced a $10.8 million Megabucks(R) jackpot on Sept. 2, 2006 at Wynn Las Vegas. Both the penny and dollar Megabucks(R) progressives have top jackpots that build from a base amount of $10 million and are paid in annual installments upon verification.

PALM DESERT WOMAN HITS $2.6M JACKPOT PLAYING PENNY SLOTS
LAS VEGAS - After winning $1,500 on Bally's Hot Shot Progressive video slots in Las Vegas Friday night, Susan Cupit is probably glad she didn't abide by the idiom, 'quit while you're ahead', because she won $2.6 million playing the same machine on Sunday.
According to a release from Bally's Technologies, Cupit is a 57-year-old homemaker from Palm Desert. She ended up winning $2,690,428.99 while playing Bally's one-cent denomination video slots at The Palazzo at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
"It made that click sound and stopped on the jackpot. I thought, 'I must have won something big'", she said. "I knew it was a progressive but I never looked up. All of a sudden I had 100 people crowding around me saying I'd won $2.6 million."
Susan said her husband was relieved they'd be able to live comfortably in retirement. She said that with her massive winnings, they would also do some remodeling on their house and could now fulfill their dream of buying a motorhome and traveling the country after her husband retires.
"We just celebrated our 39th anniversary," she said. "I'm very happy I could do this for him."
Cupit and her husband, Mark, are originally from the Seattle area, where they raised their two sons. They used to gamble in Reno but since moving to Palm Desert, they visit Las Vegas every few months and stay at The Palazzo.
"You always say, 'I'm going to hit the big one, but you never really think it's going to happen,'" she said. "I'm really taken aback by the amount of people, complete strangers, that are just so happy for me. Truly, I've never had more hugs and handshakes and smiles. It's been just an absolutely wonderful experience."
